Before training as a therapist I spent over twenty five years in the corporate world taking up various leadership positions in the UK and across Europe.
One of the most valuable lessons I learned was the difference between “leading” and “managing” and how good leadership is simultaneously very hard and extremely rewarding.
I can help you become a better leader.
I know that’s bold claim but here’s why I think it’s true.
Drawing on my experience in the world of business and psychological therapy I stand at the intersection of business leadership and human psychology helping you not only work out how best to lead but why and what impact your decisions is likely to be having on your team and, just as importantly, you.
If you understand your people and have the courage to address the limitations you place on yourself you can be an extraordinary leader and there are not many of those around.
More recently I have been running leadership group sessions for the workplace mental health company Spill and it’s shown me clearly how much leaders today need help and support as they push to do more with less resource and, often, little or no training in leading a team.
How Does It Work?
In a mentoring relationship with me you will have someone to help you reflect on and address the challenges you face in your career.
The perspective of someone experienced who does not have any specific knowledge of your business and therefore no preconceptions can be hugely liberating and can free you to think about new approaches to challenges, and push beyond your existing tried and tested strategies for managing your team and career.
I think you’ll probably find that a little help goes a very long way.
Sessions will be at a frequency agreed between us but is completely flexible.
